Jamaica is as dangerous as say… anywhere else in the world.

Much of the famed Jamaican murder rate happens in areas regarded as “ghetto” where gangs/gunmen and political forces are in constant struggle for scarce resources.

If you avoid these hot spots, then the chance of you being killed is about the same as any other country with low to moderate murder rates.

Despite the fact that Port Royal is regarded as one of the most wicked places on earth when disaster struck in 1692, many people have claimed that Jamaica is the best Caribbean island to visit, hands down.

In my opinion, Jamaica has it’s dangers but I wouldn’t say it’s a dangerous place.

There are more positive happenings than there are negative in Jamaica.

Jamaica has been reported for violence in both past times and present, while on many occasions the police force has fallen victim of heavy scrutiny of how the handle a hostile situation.

In Jamaica there are usually two sides of story to a killing done by the police as in the volatile areas classified as ‘Ghetto,’ (from a residents perspective) the men killed by the police are innocent, while the police on the other hand differs, their reports include coming under heavy fire from the killed individuals or guns where drawn.

Literally, to bow is to bend or incline (the knee, body, or head) in worship, submission, respect, civility, agreement, etc.

In the dancehall sense of the word, bowing suggests deference to the woman’s pleasure, a gesture no upstanding man is prepared to admit that he makes, according to Carolyn Cooper.

Yet, of course, women do bow as well.

It’s the golden rule:

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. In some instances, bowing is not reciprocal, a clear case of ‘wash-over gold’ misrule.

Shabba Ranks’ 1990 hit single “Dem Bow” is a classic chant of damnation against those who do, in fact, bow.

The DJ condemns both cunnilingus and fellatio in graphic imagery:

“man under table” and “lipstick pon hxxd head”.

Oral sex is seen as deviant behaviour coming from ‘foreign’ to corrupt supposedly ‘pure’ Jamaican culture, according to Cooper.

Like homosexuality, oral sex is vigorously censured in dancehall lyrics.

Cooper believes that the DJs protest intensively while their obsessive attack on certain sexual behaviors that would make many wonder if they’re not running and a-running and a-running away from themselves, with apologies to Bob Marley.

If that’s not so, many will also agree that it’s high time for the DJs to stop minding other people’s sexual business.

On that score, she congratulated dancehall star Beenie Man for having the good sense to bow out of the name-calling game.

Cooper admitted that the United States Embassy in Jamaica must also be congratulated for bowing to reason and giving back the DJ a work permit.

Beenie Man has been much derided for his decision to make an uneasy peace with gay-rights activists.

Dancehall veteran Bounty Killer has charged Beenie Man with selling out.

In an interview reported with OutAroad, Killer is alleged to have said:

“Me can’t ever put a dollar over Jamaica and its culture. If it wasn’t for dancehall and its culture, I don’t know where or who I’d be today. Mi nuh sorry fi nothing that I said or sang; I am sorry to know it offended anybody, but that’s how I see it. My views and beliefs, all I can say is that homosexuals fi stop try ban we shows and dancehall must leave dem alone to God still and let peace reign.”

Bounty Killer’s ‘leave dem alone to God still’ concession is not as innocuous as it seems.

In Jamaican parlance, leaving someone to God is a fate worse than death and at the the same, Killer’s accommodating posture is definitely an act of bowing, as reported by Cooper.

Killer conceded that dancehall DJs should stop acting on God’s behalf and leave judgement to him or her.

This is a major advance in dancehall sexual politics that must be resoundingly applauded, according to Cooper.

Her status stated, “JAMAICA I Love You But Things Ain’t The Same…“

With that, a friend commented,”I kinda felt the same from time to time during my last stay. But in what way would u say things has changed?.”

“Mmm Yes also want to know: p,” commented another friend.

Her comment was as stated:

Mostly talking about the nightlife and dancing perspective. Too many people just going out the to “model”, standing around drinking and posing.

Many selectas keep on choosing a selection of songs which affects the party in such way that it never really has the time to get started before the police come and lock it off and then u reach a next party just to go through the same procedure over again which makes u loose your mode.

Because of this many of the dancers don’t go out to often, at least not the crews I want to see (the older generation or the guys who been dancing since Bogle days).

Then the love and respect between the dancers (and also soundsystems) seems to be failing quite often, the unity is not as strong.. Heard that many of the new crews don’t show the older generation any respect (?).

Loved it when everybody was doing the same moves to these dancing tunes and having fun together (that is why I LOVE old school because it still brings that out of the people).

And last but not least… TOO MANY foreign people coming and “taking” over the parties without showing any respect for the people who’s does this everyday ( lack of knowledge of the culture or just ignorance ? ).

It’s ok that you want to dance and have fun but there’s different ways of doing it.

And the way many people carry themselves over here.. *sigh* I don’t know, I just want to associated with that kind behaviour.

For instance, many British and American couples shy away from getting jiggy under the sheets due to their dwindling libidos and lack of energy, caused by being overworked, being blighted with money worries and the chilliest weather overcast by the seasons.

Exercise allows persons to have more stamina and better performance. Aerobics, for example, will strengthen the heart and lungs, boosting one’s ability to keep up in the bedroom.

When you exercise, your hormones secrete all sorts of endorphins as well, and this makes you feel good.

So you have all these endorphins that make you feel good about yourself and you start looking good and all of those positive assets are going to improve your intimate relationships.

Other than jogging and walking, which are going to exercise the cardiovascular system, I would think of exercising the PC muscle.

The pubococcygeus (PC) muscle is found in both sexes, stretching from the pubic bone to the tail bone.

It controls urine flow and contracts during orgasm.

You can do this (exercise) while sitting or standing.

According to research, you can actually contract and relax the muscle constantly, and by so doing… the muscle becomes toned and can grasp (better).
